Summertime 2008 – Out and About

Dudley Museum & Art Gallery launch a permanent gallery featuring local heroes on Friday 6th June. The centre piece is a display of memorabilia celebrating Dudley’s most famous football player – Duncan Edwards.

The Society’s evening walk, on Thursday 12th June, will leave from the car park of Darkhouse Baptist Church, Darkhouse Lane, Coseley at 7 pm prompt. Your guide is Trevor Genge.

There is a once a year chance to visit the Earl of Dudley’s private Memory Garden adjacent to St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, Himley. Open on Saturday 21st June, 10.30 am to 4.00 pm & Sunday 22nd June, 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm.

Himley Hall is the venue for the Express & Star’s ‘Pictures from the Past’ exhibition. Over 300 photographs cover a century of change in the Black Country. Open from Saturday 28th June to Sunday 7th September.

The Society’s programme of talks recommences on Thursday 11th September.
