NEWS (April 2005): Mobile Mast Locator

Let's Get Mobile

The C20th was all about 'communication' - telephone, radio, television and the internet. The systems spawned cables, towers, satellites, metal dishes and much more.

Today the Manor is plastered with aerials - a few to receive worldwide radio stations, the rest television programmes. However in the last fifteen years a new type of mast has appeared, not to receive information, but to transmit it.

The mobile phone transmitter has nearly become ubiquitous. Why not search the Manor for this C21st 'street furniture'!! Within living memory these site will become 'places of interest'. Start your journey of discovery by visiting www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk.

Click on Find GB and enter your postcode. Masts are identified and details of height, power and operator can be printed out.
